Claytime, a play with clay, where the audience are co-creators

Come to a place where the earth’s natural Playdoh meets with children’s boundless imaginations: a world of fabulous forms, amazing animals and morphing monsters.

Claytime has developed from a philosophy of making “open” theatre shows where the audience are actively involved in the creation of the piece. Each performance is totally unique with the concept and content drawn directly from the audience.

After exploring the medium of clay through clowning, two artists ask the audience to share their ideas for characters, settings and stories. Based on these ideas a cast of clay characters is made on the spot. A play unique to that specific audience is then improvised using the models.

Truly interactive theatre at its most engaging!

Claytime is presented by Indefinite Articles and West End in Schools.
