Fantastic Mr Fox: 5 activities for exploring the story with the whole school

Fantastic Mr Fox Activities.png

In this blog series we have been working our way through the books in our World Book Day 2020 selection for our Story Explorer drama workshops. We have so far looked at activities based on Stick Man, The Tiny Seed and Rainbow Fish. Next up is the first of two Roald Dahl books on the list.

Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl

Who is it for?

This story is suitable for all learners from Reception to Year 6.

Why do we love this book?

With every chapter ending on a cliffhanger this book is full of drama! The main character is always finding ways to get himself out of sticky situations, providing plenty of entertainment for the whole class. This is also a great tale for introducing children to chapter books and can be read aloud in small chunks for children who aren’t reading themselves yet.

Roald Dahl’s children’s books are known for their creative language and vivid descriptions, an inspiration for any young person!
