Celebrate the 2022 Commonwealth Games in your primary school

In celebration of the 2022 Commonwealth Games taking place in Birmingham this summer, your whole school can unite in a dance workshop exploring different countries and cultures of the Commonwealth.

During the workshop children from Reception to Year 6 will work alongside a professional choreographer. Over the course of each class-by-class session they will explore the music and dances of a range of countries that make up the Commonwealth, including New Zealand, India, Scotland, Kenya, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Each workshop session concludes with a performance moment, giving the children a chance to perform the dance they have created to themselves and to their class teacher.

Choreography by:
Mairi Cowieson & Emma Cannon.
