Tokyo Olympics Workshops

Celebrate the Olympic and Paralympic Games with dance and drama workshops.

Bring the energy and excitement of the Olympic Games into your school this summer.

Dance and drama workshops are the perfect way to promote teamwork, build confidence and delve into the culture of this year’s Olympics host country: Japan. We have three different workshop options for primary school children to get into the spirit of The Games:

The Tokyo Olympics dance workshop

Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes drama workshop

Kensuke’s Kingdom dance workshop

The Tokyo Olympics Dance Workshop

Your children will work together, class-by-class, to reimagine their own movement-based version of the Olympic Games. They will celebrate Japanese culture in their own imagining of the opening ceremony, explore the different types of sports, and embrace the Olympic values of excellence, respect and friendship.

Available in person or live-on-screen for Nursery to Year 6, the workshops are led by a professional West End dancer.

The Tokyo Olympics will run from July to September 2021 but we are beginning our celebrations early, with workshops available from 24th May.

Kensuke’s Kingdom: Bringing Books to Life dance workshop

This popular tale by Michael Morpurgo introduces children to the modern history of Japan. The narrator, Michael, becomes shipwrecked shortly before his twelfth birthday and is washed up on an island with only one other inhabitant: Kensuke. The children will hear about Japan through Kensuke’s tale and will have a great springboard for further research into the country and its history.

Our Bringing Books to Life dance workshops give children a unique insight into books by using dance and movement to tell stories.
