Dance and drama workshops that inspire a love of literacy and creative expression

★★★★★

‘It was accessible for ALL pupils, fun and engaging!’
- Waterside SEMH

We believe that every child’s imagination should be inspired by the arts, and many of our flagship workshops can be flexibly adapted for children with a range of additional needs.

Whether you would like a workshop based on a children’s book, fairytale or a Shakespeare play, we can work with you to address the needs of your children in advance, and tailor our workshops to give them the best possible experience.

Working with children in their usual groups, we focus on creating a safe and supportive learning environment where they can express themselves creatively in response to your chosen story.

Led by an expert facilitator, children are guided into the world of the story using carefully developed exercises from professional theatre and simple sensory props. Key plot moments, characters and settings are explored through movement and sound, empowering children to take creative ownership of the text by experiencing it first hand.

★★★★★

‘The workshop was not only educational but also highly entertaining. The teacher's expertise in dance and her ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate the steps made it easy for our SEN students to learn and follow along.’
- Purple Oaks Academy

Fill in our short enquiry form and we will be in touch to discuss your requirements and the individual needs of your children. We prefer this to be by phone if possible, at a time that suits you.

We'll also use this time to talk more about the content of your workshop, i.e would you prefer a children’s book or Shakespeare, dance or drama? Following the call, we’ll send over a proposal and quote for your workshop.

Seven of our most popular workshops can be adapted for SEND:

Our workshops are suitable for children of all ages working up to a KS2 learning level, with a range of communication, learning, social, sensory, emotional and physical needs. We can work in KS3 settings too and can happily discuss this with you, if applicable.

We can work in special schools or SEN units in mainstream schools and usually bring simple sensory props for each session.

The experience of the children is paramount, and we’ll talk with you to ensure we’re confident that we can accommodate their needs. Our flexible workshop plans also allow facilitators to respond to the children as they are on the day.

Workshop timings are flexible to suit your timetable, with a recommended maximum length of 45 minutes. We can deliver multiple sessions per day.

We work with children in their usual classes, with a maximum of 10 to 15 children per session.

For the best possible experience, we ask that support staff take an active role in the workshop too.
