Devising Techniques

Develop your students’ understanding of devising skills with our 1-day INSET training

The day will be rooted in practical activities all designed to be usable and adaptable for teachers delivering with their students at A’ Level, BTEC and GCSE.

Working with a professional director, you will undertake a practical devising workshop, where ideas and strategies for developing material are demonstrated.

A range of improvisation and devising techniques and devices will be explored practically, with a focus on useful rehearsal room approaches and how a company works as a theatre-making ensemble to achieve an overall concept in performance.

There will be an opportunity for reflection and Q&A.

You will leave the day armed with a range of devising techniques and practical teaching activities to enrich your students’ understanding of how to devise an original performance.
